I keep getting kind of chilling feelings when I think about such a civil war in America, today. But I am repressing them.


Strikingly modern and present drawing style. Very powerful.


At the end of the 19c France did very well economically and arttistically. It completed the French Revolution and finally became a republic. Bourgeois liberalism won. We still have to remember the conditions of the working and non working poor, as in Victorian England, were appalling.

And it all ended in 1914 when the male youth of France, Britain and Germany were slaughtered in eastern France and Belgium.
